The front page of the internet is one of the most iconic cornerstones of online culture, and with good reason.

There are all kinds of things to be found on Reddit, from entertaining to weird to genuinely informative. It has grown exponentially since first appearing as a somewhat niche, unregulated place for different forums and news aggregation more than twenty years ago. Nowadays, almost everybody has heard of the place, and probably stumbled upon one of its advice-giving threads at some point or another. If they haven't done that, then it is more than likely that whatever artificial intelligence they use has combed the platform to give them an answer to their query. It really is one of the pillars of the modern internet.

  • As such, it is easy for the casual observer to see it as a semi-serious kind of place. As anyone who has spent any length of time looking into it will know, this could not be further from the truth. There are plenty of jokers who also happen to be Redditors, some of them unintentional. This only makes it even easier to fall down the rabbit hole and then struggle to get out again. 

    Like any somewhat addictive social media, this can make it a dangerous place at times. Thankfully, it is also possible to skim off the most entertaining posts and enjoy them in one convenient list. Redditors can be a wild bunch, and it makes for amusing (and occasionally slightly horrifying) viewing.
